Jesus Revolution

If you have been floating around Facebook you may have seen the Facebook Page for Jesus Revolution or maybe the poster down at your local cinema.

The movie happen to be giving away some tickets and I was blessed to be able to score 2 tickets. So on opening weekend, hubby and I headed out on our first date night in quite away.

I was so excited to be able to see this story of hope, love, acceptance and the movement know as “The Jesus Revolution”.

It is based on the true story of the happenstance meeting of Lonnie Frisbee ( Jonathon Roumie), Pastor Chuck Smith ( Kelsey Grammar) and a young Greg Laurie (Joel Courthney).

It all started with Pastor Chuck’s daughter picking up a hippie on the side of the road and bringing him home. As Pastor Chuck starts to talk with him, his view of the kids and their free living lifestyle started to change. This is during a time that kids were searching for something, a truth they could grasp onto. These kids were trying everything and nothing was filling the void they had.

And that is when Lonnie crosses paths the Greg on this faithful night after going down the wrong path. Little did he know that Lonnie would play a pivotal role in his life. As Greg starts on this path for truth with his girlfriend Cathe, they end up at Pastor Chuck’s church where Lonnie was ministering.

Lonnie brought many people that most churches at the time would not want sitting in their pews, but Pastor Chuck of Calvary Chapel, changed it all, opening up the doors and even down to washing the feet of his guests. There is a glimpse into what was the biggest baptism in Southern California, which continues to this day.

This movie will have you crying, laughing and all emotions in between.

Are you looking for Truth? If so this movie is for you.

The movement known as the Jesus Revolution.
